No matter where I go, I see someone either rocking the ombré hair style, high-waisted bell-bottom jeans, or peasant crop tops-let’s face it, 70′s fashion is EVERYWHERE. Whether you are playing dress up in forever 21 or shopping for a girls night out in Vegas at Icara, you will find a piece of clothing that resembles that “bitchin” outfit your mother wore in 1973 that’s now stuffed in a bag in her closet. Also, I have noticed that everyone is going crazy for old men Levi cut off shorts! Designers are buying old Levi jeans and turning them into female-looking shorts with studs, rhinestones, and crocheted knit hearts. History is definetly repeating itself.

Neon is huge this season but wearing the shockingly bright shades can be cause enough to pick up a new pair of sunglasses. This post is dedicated on how to wear this hot trend with out looking crossing guard-chic.

Accessories can make or break an outfit and in the case of neon this is no different. To wear neon accessories, chose a simple canvas to paint on the color. That is, make sure your outfit isn’t too crazy already or else you might look like you just stepped off the set of an 80′s MTV music video. Using shades of grey and creme as a backdrop is a good idea because white and black can be a little harsh along with the splashes of bright color.

We tend to think that what is in style or what is trendy comes from an individual thought but if we really begin to look at an article of clothing, we can see the layers of fabric woven together, piecing the past, present, and future in an entirety. We can feel the weight of the outfit wear on our soul and attract others from all ages, sexes, and parts of the world. The outfit becomes a solid life form trying to tell a story about our new and old loves. Fashion and history go hand and hand. And I have realized, as I have grown older that style is everlasting—it is ever changing and ever remaining. We will come reunited with past times, past memories, and past moments and thus, at some point in time, we have all lived together. Fashion is timeless, eternal, and a constant reminder of who you were, who you are, and who you will be. Share your history with the world and i promise you, the world will respond.

Lita Obsessed

Aside from my oddly, crazy obsession with colored denim, I find myself crazily in love with the famous Jeffrey Campbell Lita’s. I have up to three pairs now and am ready for my fourth. They are not only individually unique but they are so COMFORTABLE. It’s hard to find a nice pair of shoes that are both stylish and worth walking in. Every time I wear my Lita’s, I feel like an angel walking on a cloud. They are so light and fun—my life would not be complete without them, as cheesy as that may sound. I encourage all my fellow ladies to purchase a pair-yes, they are quite expensive but I promise you those Benjamin’s won’t go to waste! I strongly deem that a great outfit is not complete without a great pair of shoes. For myself, I like to have a simplistic outfit usually within the same color field and then I will choose a pair of shoes that will make the entire outfit pop. My leopard Steve Madden booties and orange/red Lita’s never fail me. It’s important to choose a pair of shoes that fit your personality because I promise if you choose that hot pink-leather Lita and you are a shy, introverted person, I know without a doubt, those Lita’s will remain hidden for the next twenty years. Always express yourself, truly and wholeheartedly. Choose you. Choose Lita. Choose Naomi Gray. Choose Happiness—that’s my motto for life and it should be yours too!

Colored Denim Craze.

Lately, I have noticed that wherever I go someone is wearing colored denim. It’s everywhere and the crazy thing is that I ABSOLUTELY love it! Colored denim is versatile and fun. You can pair em with converse or your favorite Jeffery Campbell. Did I mention that they go perfectly with a Naomi Gray Stone necklace?! You can seriously pair any of your favorite colored denim with ANYTHING and I mean ANYTHING. At the moment, I am pretty obsessed with the color peach—it’s just such a feminine color, a happy color to say the least. Peach is fabulous. So being in this peach craze, I decided to hunt for some peach skinny jeans. Yep, that’s right; I said it, peach denim. And so of course, I started my hunt googling “peach jeans” and yep, they were in fact everywhere-Bloomingdales, Nordstrom’s, Nasty Gal, and every other cute store come to mankind. So I suggest that all you ladies out there with not a single pair of colored denim go out and purchase some! Find your favorite colored jean and accessorize your life! I bet you, the next time you go out with a pair of colored jeans; you will be getting compliments left and right. Trust me; it’s worth putting a little dent in your bank account. Just do it.

As cliché as it sounds, timing really is everything. You are where you are in your life, at this very moment, due to timing. It is because of time that you are able to grow as a person, to learn new things, to meet new people, to fall in love, to obtain wealth, to be a mother, a father, a college graduate-it is because of timing, that you are here reading this blog. The universe is awfully big and at times, it’s awfully difficult to comprehend but the universe is always working. Every thought, every feeling comes down to time and energy. This is not philosophy. This is physics”. You may be wondering why I am discussing time and energy in a fashion blog. However, fashion is a thought process. An individual cannot take pieces together and create a masterpiece without thought. And sure, people who are stylists, designers, or fashionista’s must have the eye to pick out the “right” pieces to formulate an outfit, but it simply comes down to the individual’s thought process. Before picking out the perfect outfit paired with the perfect accessories, we must think about the message we want to send. Do you want to tell people that you are happy and in love? So in fact, you wear vibrant, romantic colors. Or, do you want to tell people that you are powerful, successful, and rich? In this case, you would probably wear some sort of power suit with colors like red and deep maroons. It is through this thought process that you create an entire wardrobe for yourself. Everything you wear sends out an image about yourself. With every outfit, every piece of accessory, you are creating a response of judgments, opinions, feelings from those around you.
