The Academy Awards Best Dressed

Last night was a huge night for movies and fashion alike. All of the stars walked the red carpet decked out in the best that designers had to offer and glittered with the most beautiful accessories. After live Tweeting all the styles that were seen on the carpet,  it only seemed appropriate that we should follow up with our favorite gowns on the carpet. So take a gander at our 5 Best Dressed ladies of the red carpet!

#5 Cameron Diaz in Gucci, Salvatore Ferragamo, and Tiffany & Co.

Actress Cameron Diaz looked absolutely fab in her fitted creme dress with asymmetrical ruffles. She channeled a mermaid feel as she flowed down the carpet in her gorgeous gown and minimal jewelry.

Jessica Chastain looked very regal in a black strapless number by Alexander McQueen. The dress had amazingly intricate gold embroidery and beadwork that stood out against the red carpet.

Funny girl Tina Fey looked chic and stunning in a custom navy blue peplum dress by Carolina Herrera. The dress and understated jewelry gave her a sweet vintage and Audrey Hepburn-ish vibe that worked for her wonderfully.

#2 Michelle Williams in Louis Vuitton and Fred Leighton

Best Performance by an Actress nominee Michelle Williams looked luscious in a tiered ruffle gown by Louis Vuitton. The look was completed by a simple diamond necklace and adorable pink clutch. Her look was bold and sweet, reminding one of a colorful and meticulously decorated dessert in a bakery shop window.

#1 Gwyneth Paltrow in Tom Ford and Anna Hu Haute Joaillerie

Gwyneth Paltrow. Need one say more? She looked like a goddess in a simple white Tom Ford dress complete with cape from his latest collection. Finished off with the dazzling”Hearts of Winter” cuff by Anna Hu Haute Joaillerie, the look was polished and gorgeous. The look was definitely made by Paltrow’s upbeat personality and bangin’ body. She is definitely our choice for Best Dressed of the 2012 Academy Awards.
